Annette Gil is an artist based in Oslo, Norway. She was front singer and songwriter in the indie band “Seven” for 12 years before she went solo.
Her first album entitled «Desert Disco!» was released in May 2013. The album received great reviews and she performed at some of the most important festivals in Norway the following summer. This included Oya, Slottsfjell and Trollrock festival. Desert Disco! is also available on 180 grams of pink vinyl, in addition to digital platforms like iTunes, Spotify and Tidal.
The following year she started to work on the making of album number two. This was entitled "Comfortably Young" and was released April 21. 2016. Again, she received great reviews online and in Norwegian magazines. A week after the release she brought her band over to USA and Canada for promotion. They played at legendary Pianos (NYC) before joining the Canadian Music Week (CMW) in Toronto, where she performed two showcases. "Comfortably Young" was also made available on vinyl two months later.
Annette is inspired by the beats and moods of the 80's darker corners. She is introverted and mysterious, yet glamorous and playful. Her music is intriguing and she`s creating her very own alternative pop world. You might hear the echoes of artists like Blondie, Souxsie and the Banshees and David Bowie. Right now, she is planning the release of a brand new song called "Little Sister". The single will be available on all digital platforms August 17. She has soon finished the work on her third album, which she plans to release early 2020.
She co-produces her music together with engineer and drummer Ole Tom Torjussen.
Other musicians contributing live and on albums are Fredrik Eilertsen (bass), Helge Hovland (guitar) and Ola Aanje (keys).
All musical work is done in her own studio and label “House of distillery records” (HOD), Oslo - Norway
