Annette Gil is an artist based in Oslo, Norway. The diversity in her very own unique sound is intriguing - she is introverted and mysterious, yet glamorous and playful! Her music is influenced by the darker beats and moods of the 80's, mixing it up with new and fresh vibes. You might still hear the echoes from artists like Blondie, Siouxsie and the Banshees and David Bowie.
Her first solo album entitled «Desert Disco!» was released in May 2013. The album received great reviews and she performed at some of the biggest festivals in Norway the following summer. "Desert Disco!" is also available on 180 grams of pink candy vinyl.
The following years she went in the studio for the making of album number two. Entitled "Comfortably Young", it was released on CD and digitally on the 21st of April 2016. Again she received great reviews online and in the Norwegian papers. A week after the release she brought three band members over to the US and Canada for promotion. They played in legendary Pianos (NYC) before joining the Canadian Music Week (CMW) in Toronto, performing on two showcases there. "Comfortably Young" was also made available on vinyl two months later.
Together with engineer and drummer Ole Tom Torjussen she is co-producing her own sound. Other musicians contributing on the record are Fredrik Eilertsen (bass), Henrik Skjervum (guitar), Helge Hovland (guitar) and Arne Nöst (flute). All songs are recorded at her own studio and label House of distillery records, Oslo - Norway.
Earlier, Annette Gil was the front singer and songwriter in the indie band Seven. Releasing 5 albums and 2 EP`s they had rotation on the Norwegian broadcasting radio NRK P3 and also on MTV’s Alternative Nation.
